Hands working gently across the upper back during a massage

What is scar tissue massage actually about? Is it dangerous? Does it hurt? Maybe it feels a little embarrassing to show your scar? And what if it’s somewhere a bit intimate, like along the bikini line? Here’s a short guide to how a treatment works.

Before you come

When you book, you answer a few questions: what brings you here, roughly what your scar is and how old it is, and everything I should know as your therapist. There’s a reason for it, and it isn’t paperwork for the sake of paperwork. I read your story before you arrive, so your first hour is about you, not about filling in a form while I try to keep up.

I’d rather do my groundwork before you step through the door, because that leaves more time for YOU.

What to wear

For most scar work you keep your clothes on. Loose, comfortable clothing is ideal, and we only uncover the specific area we’re working on, and only when you say so. Nothing happens that you haven’t agreed to, and you can stay as covered up as you like.

The hour, in four parts

01. Vi taler sammen

We start with a conversation. I already know your story from the booking form, so this is where you fill in the colours: what the scar does that bothers you, what you’re hoping for, and what you’ve tried. There are no wrong answers, and “I’m not quite sure, it just feels wrong” is a perfectly good place to begin.

02. En blid undersøgelse

Then I look, and I use a light touch to feel how the scar and the tissue around it move. You tell me as we go: you are the expert on your own scar, and what you tell me matters more than anything I can see from the outside. If something feels tender or strange, you say so, and we adjust.

03. Behandling i dit tempo

The hands-on work itself is gentle and precise. Here is the rule I never break: it may tug a little, it must never hurt, and you can say stop at any time, without explaining yourself, without apologising. “Stop” is a complete sentence in my room. Some people want quiet; some want to talk the whole way through. Both are fine, and it’s your choice.

04. En plan, du kan tage med hjem

We finish with a plan: what I think is going on, and what’s realistic. Nobody leaves my clinic signed up for ten treatments. Most people leave knowing exactly what we’re doing and why, and often with a simple self-massage to keep things moving between visits.

Prices and practicalities

Treatments come in four lengths, so you can match the time to the task:

  • 30 minutter · 300 kr
  • 45 minutter · 450 kr
  • 60 minutter · 600 kr
  • 90 minutter · 900 kr

An old scar often needs more than one visit, and there are two courses: a two-session course (1,100 kr) and a four-session course (2,100 kr), but only if a course genuinely suits your scar. I’m open Tuesday to Friday, 09:00 to 15:15 (last start time).

A few things people worry about

I’m nervous about being touched. That’s very common, and it’s exactly why we go slowly, and only where you say yes. You stay in control the whole way through.

Can I bring someone? Yes. If having a friend or partner in the room helps you relax, they’re very welcome.

Do we talk, or is it quiet? Exactly as you prefer. Tell me, or just follow your mood on the day.

What if I get emotional? It happens: scars carry stories. There’s no embarrassment about it here. We pause, you breathe, and we carry on when you’re ready.

How many times will I need to come? The honest answer is: I won’t know until I’ve seen the scar. My goal isn’t for you to come every week for months on end; my goal is for you to feel better about your scar.

I’m not sure whether my scar is too old to work with? It’s never too late to work with scar tissue. Remember, it’s a place where your body has repaired itself, and even though it did a wonderful job, it can still use a little help.
